Austin, Texas music critic Lee Nichols writes that Little Red’s sound: “…is just flat out fun – it’s an exuberant celebration of everything wonderful about American music, with a heavy emphasis on Zydeco and Cajun. He can easily glide from ‘Bon Ton Roulet’ to ‘Zydeco Beach Party’ to blues, country, conjunto, and back again.” Little Red picked up the accordion at age six and never looked back. He’s been making pepper-hot Zydeco music since the 1960s. He’s also a master of New Orleans piano styles. Little Red has lived in New Orleans, where he absorbed the musical styles of Clifton Chenier and Professor Longhair; he’s performed at the Kennedy Center, the Smithsonian and 10,000 honky tonks from Texas to the Canadian border. Little Red has been a featured performer at the New Music Seminar in Manhattan and South by SouthWest in Austin. Firmly grounded in the Louisiana sound, his music now transcends all boundaries. Over the years he has performed with his own string of bands and with Soul bands, Haitian bands, Salsa groups and Rockabilly legends. Little Red’s music will make you dance and bring a smile to your face!
